The Arches

Outside Port Phillip Heads an amazing area of arches, ledges and small caves, spread over an area of 100 sq metres.
Points of Interest: : Weed and kelp growth full of fish such as cuttlefish, Magpie Perch, Dusky Morwong, Leatherjackets, Boarfish, Blue Devils, Wobbegong Sharks and Port Jackson Sharks plus the elusive crayfish.
Bottom Composition: : Arches and ledges made up of reef, with patches of sand and seagrass surrounding.
Water movement/currents: : Some current always heading towards the Heads but normally not a problem.
Hazards: : Swell effects the site and when the sea is up it should be avoided.
